Remembering to praise Him

You know that song that says, Still I will worship you.
It says:
I will worship You, in the midnight hour
I will worship You, when I'm in the fire
I will worship You, when all hope seems gone
I will stand and proclaim that You are my God
I will worship You.

We started out our vacation on a high. I found out that I was pregnant. After all of the ups and downs of the last year with our foster children, maybe this was an answer to prayer.

We ended our trip in the E.R. I lost the baby at almost 7 weeks along. I am in a lot of pain but we had to come home the next day and it is nice to be able to recover in my house and not in a hotel room.

Though we are very upset about this, I have to keep going. Maggie can't see me breaking down all day long. We have to eat, so we went to get groceries.

On the way home, we were listening to a worship cd and "indescribable" came on. I had in on kind of loud and didn't realize that Maggie was paying attention to the music. Then, I hear the cutest little voice from the backseat singing it word for word. It made me so happy.

I told her that I loved hearing her sing and she said "i sing because I believe in God and I believe in His word."

I do a lot of things wrong and I wallow in my self doubt a lot, but we are trying so hard to raise her to be a godly woman. I have to remember to count my blessings and not dwell on our sadness.

I go in waves

Why do I want to post like 3 posts in one day and then I can't think of anything to post for a while? I guess I get them all out and then I have nothing to say?

What did you do for Labor Day? Steven played golf and Maggie and I went to the mall and looked around. She got a new ariel dress for her build a bear. I got some new lip gloss.

I bought a tri tip for dinner and cooked in it in our persnickety oven. It was so yummy. I know that tri tip is not only available in California, but I had never had it before we moved here. It's so yummy.

We have been watching Gustav on the news today. I'm from Houma and Morgan City where it hit. My dad is in New Orleans and decided to stay. He's fine, just lost power. It's weird to see Houma and Morgan City on the news though. They are pretty small towns! I bet they wish that they weren't on tv for this though.

Now, I'm off to have some peppermint tea and watch our wedding video with Maggie

Let's make a list

In honor of my mom, the greatest list maker of all time. Let's make a list of things that have happened today.

* Maggie and I joined the church board this morning for breakfast. Daniel made puffy pancakes. It was so yummy!
* We went to the pool at the gym. We had so much fun. Maggie and I were the only ones there and it was so relaxing. It's an indoor pool. I kind of like that. We don't have to worry about sunscreen. She is getting to be a good little swimmer.
* We came home and I made her an icecream cone that was upside down like a clown. That was so hilariously funny to my 4 year old!
* We watched Muppets take Manhatten. I found it on ebay. I love it! I can sing along with most of it. The Muppet Babies are on it and the rats dance on butter on the skillet!
*I mailed a box to my mom on Thursday and she got it today. Shocking! Cross country mail is pretty fast.
* I ordered some bows for Maggie from:

Very cute bows and so cheap!
* Steven came home and cut the grass and Maggie played and colored.
* I went to Wal*Mart and bought dinner and supplies to make these.

It's kind of hard to see the detail, but I made her some Ariel tennis shoes for our trip to Disney world at the end of the month. It was a lot of fun making them.
*Then, Maggie fell asleep at 5:30. That could be another fun byproduct of going to the pool.
*Steven grilled mahi mahi for us on the grill for a late supper. It was super yummy.
*Just a great day!
