Patrick's deep thoughts

"Once I was a fallen hero.."

Mommy, why isn't your car a transformer?

"Somebody pooped in the house and it wasn't me."

Grown up

Since she turned 9, I feel like I have. Tween. Not in the annoying, hormonal way, but just a different version of Maggie.

She looks different and talks differently too.

Today, she came home and asked to go to her bff's softball game. She came inside and ate a snack that she made. Then, changed her clothes and put on a baseball cap over her ponytail. She spent some time playing a computer game and then it was time for her to go.

I asked her for a few minutes to talk before she left. It was just bizarre. She has her own little life and own interests. Is this what it is like to have teens?

Nine

Tomorrow, my baby girl turns 9! She is so grown up and funny and cute!

I found this gem on my iphone.

So proud of her clean room.

Very tired girl on our trip home from Atlanta.

With Grandmother at the American girl tea party

Holding William outside of the LaBrea tarpits.

Snuggling with Daddy on the sofa.

Being silly with Miss Tiffany.

Making an Olympic scene with Katelyn and Chocolate.

Lunch with her Southern Aunt Valerie.

Maggie and Twixie Poo

With her arm around her adoring little brother.

Silly girls before Maggie's piano recital.

This girl loves the color blue.

Happy birthday, sweet girl!

Puppy love

Sometimes, I like to scroll through my iPhone pictures to see what kind of silliness Maggie and Patrick have captured. There are usually lots of self portraits and random pictures of feet or noses.

But, I am responsible for this. I can't stop taking pictures of this cutie pie. I know that I am 35 years old and I am taking puppy pictures. I am blowing up Instagram, but I can't help it. He is a ball of 3 and a half pound cuteness.

So, it is my fault, but I can't say I will stop anytime soon. I mean, look at this!!!

Bourbon Street Baby

Aunt Donna sent home these stylish shades from her trip to New Orleans.

Patrick greeted me in the hall and said," I am a princess."

Lent

I don't want to brag about Maggie, but....

This year she participated in Lent for the first time. We were talking about it over king cake and she decided to give up something for Lent this year. She was trying to think of something that she really loved. She loves stuffed animals with a passion. So, she decided to give up getting new stuffed animals for Lent. This was a huge deal.

If she can earn and save more than a few dollars, she is going to buy a new cute stuffed puppy. It has been hard. We have had to avoid the seasonal section at Raley's more than once. But, she did it. She also downloaded a devotional and has been reading it through Lent.

On easter morning, I gave her a stuffed bunny that Memaw bought for her. She was so happy and I am such a proud mama.
