a couple of things

1.We took Maggie to the doctor today. She had to get her 4 year old shots. She was so grown up. She didn't even whimper as she got the shots. I was amazed.

2. She didn't pass her vision exam. We have an appointment on Wednesday at a pediatric eye doctor. I'm not surprised that she didn't pass. She squints her eyes at words far away to read them. The doctor said that she didn't expect 4 year olds to have perfect vision, however, her eyes were drastically different. In one eye, she got to the 5th line of the chart. In the other eye, she only got to the 3rd line. At least, we know that she looks cute in glasses. She loves to wear reading glasses!

3.My mom bought me a cookbook when I was about 10 years old. I loved it! I loved helping her cook in the kitchen. Unfortunately, I lost it in our house fire. I missed it, but didn't think about it until recently. Maggie wants to help in the kitchen. Guess what? Through the magic of ebay..................I got the cookbook that I loved in the mail on Saturday.

Lake Alpine (continued)

Owen, Maggie and Jessica being so silly. As soon as the picture was taken, they all ran to see the picture on the back of the camera. It's so funny that they all know that you should immediately see a picture!

Willie hiding behind a tree. I guess he was being incognito? He had so much fun on the trip! He loved the jeep the most. He laid in the snow and attempted to get in the water. He was so tired when he got home.

Daddy and Maggie fishing. They had some deep talks about important subjects like ear piercing and when she can get a cell phone!

Lake Alpine

We had a great time on Thursday, Friday and Saturday. We drove up to Lake Alpine after VBS on Thursday night. We met friends up there really had a good time. This first picture is of Maggie wearing a helmet!

Maggie loved this thing. It's like painting with water for the new millenium! There was a little water pen that painted the pictures over and over again in this little book. She's such an artist. She loves to color and paint. It was cute that even in the woods, she wants to color.

Isn't this a cute picture of Maggie and Jessica?! They had so much fun together (most of the time). They have a very competitive relationship, but generally have a lot of fun together.

Being silly again!

Yes, that's my husband!

I have posted some new pictures. You can see them here. http://picasaweb.google.com/coleminer77/LotsOfStuff

We have been some busy, busy people.

The first few pictures are our last days in Georgia. Maggie is wearing her "war eagle" costume!

Then, some pictures of Grandmother and Uncle Jonathan.

Then, we went to San Francisco with Tanya and Noah and their family. It was so much fun. Steven got picked out of the audience to hold a pole for this acrobat while she juggled fire.

I'm still here

I can't find the cord for my card reader and I can't upload pictures and I really don't like posts without pictures. Picky!!

I took this picture of Maggie today. She picked out this really pretty black dress with cut outs at the top of it.

We are super busy right now. I have so many pictures to post here. Maggie is going to Miss Brynn's preschool 3 mornings a week and is learning her letters and letter sounds. She is also going to VBS at night. SUWEET!

Steven and I took a CPR class and got our blood work done for our adoption paperwork. Now, we just have to get the paperwork from our doctor and turn it in. Hopefully, we will hear something very, very soon.

I'm not begging, really.

I don't know if people are reading my blog. I'm not begging you or being pathetic here, but I've noticed that I don't get any comments anymore. Even my husband noticed it. Hello? Is anybody out there?

A funny Maggie story: Maggie got some new rubber duckies yesterday. I saw them in the kitchen and yelled out to her, "hey maggie, where do you want to put your duckies?". No response.

I said: "hey maggie, do you want me to put your duckies in the bathroom?".
Maggie said: "no, mama, I don't want to take a bath".

I said: "Maggie, where do you want me to put these duckies?!"
Maggie said: "Mama, are you talking to me or to roomba?"

Where do babies come from?

Tonight, at church, Ilda (who teaches Maggie's class at church) told me that Maggie asked where babies come from. Isn't she a little young to ask that question? Ilda told her that Mommies and Daddies know how it happens and she would learn about it when she was older. Jessica said" I know where they come from. Mommies and Daddies sleep really, really close to each other and then the baby pops across to the mommy's tummy". Interesting thoughts.

Also, last night, Maggie helped me prepare lasagna. She usually doesn't like sauce on her noodles, but she was so excited that she made it that she ate 3 helpings of her "masagna". She said that it was the "best masagna ever".

Don't you wish your wife was hot like me...

The air conditioning just froze up.

Okay, here's the deal

A small smattering of my random thoughts:
1. Maggie said, "okay, here's the deal" to me tonight. She was ordering me around about getting her qwamy to her. It was pretty funny.
2. I have so many things that I want to do and I can't find the time/won't organize myself to do them. You know when you come back to your house after a visit away and you see all the things that you have been putting off. That's all the stuff that I see.
3. I was a bit snappy today at maggie. I feel so bad now. She drives me bonkers sometimes. Her mouth never, ever stops. And she lives in "maggie world" where she tunes me out most of the time. She just kind of floats in and out of the real world when it's convenient for her.
4. We swang on the big swing tonight. It was such a nice, cool night with the breeze. She laid in my lap and we talked about how God was pushing our swing with the breeze.
5. I'm trying to catch up on work since I've been on vacation for the past few weeks. I just barely did the minimum of work that had to be done. Now, I have to get busy and get it out of the way so I can have fun.
6.Steven wanted to watch golf all day today for father's day. His requests are such simple ones. It doesn't take much money to make him happy. Just let him have the remote and some golf!
7. This made me want to cry tonight. Maggie was trying on a bathing suit from a hand me down bag. It was so stinking cute. Green with pink polka dots. It was a little small though. She started crying and saying that she looked fat. Oh.my.gosh. Where did she get this? She is not fat at all. Who said that in front of her? Why does she care? UGH!

1 year ago today

We came to Manteca last year on Father's Day to see the church in Manteca. One year ago, Steven was nervously putting the touches on his sermon before he preached this morning. I'm glad we are here. I truly believe that this is where God wants us to be and serve Him.

I gotta run to coffee time!

I fed dinner to 20 people last night!!

My husband called me on the way home from the 14 hour trip home from the San Fran airport. Stop and go traffic and fighting kids in the back seat, I hear him say that 5 bicyclists are going to spend the night at our house tomorrow night. WHAT?!

They actually stayed at the church, but we fed them and some of the faithful Northgate Church crew last night. It was a lot of fun.

Here's an article about them! http://mantecabulletin.com/main.asp?FromHome=1&TypeID=1&ArticleID=58096&SectionID=28&SubSectionID=58

I'm home

Two and a half weeks later, I'm home. It's nice to be home, but I had a blast on vacation!

I have lots to tell and lots of pictures to share, but I'm a little jet lagged right now.

However, I am excited. I got a letter in the mail from Laura. She asked me to be a bridesmaid next year in her wedding. I am really honored!!

I can't wait to share in this day with her. WOOT!

MICKEY MOUSE!

My husband arrived on the red eye flight this morning. AND....he fixed my computer! I thought I had lost my pictures from Disney World. YAY! Here's some pictures from hollywood studios!
