Martha speaks

Maggie loves this show on PBS called Martha Speaks. It's about a dog who eats Alphabet soup one day, but the letters accidentally go to her brain instead of her stomach. This causes her to speak. And she talks non-stop (something that Maggie can really relate to).

It's a really cute show and it's helpful with kids and vocabulary words.

So, Maggie decided that we should get some Alphabet soup and give it to Willie. She really wanted to know what he was thinking and what he would say if he could talk.

Because I'm a good parent (aka a sucker) I took her to Raley's and we got a can of soup. We came home and put it in Willie's bowl. Maggie drew him a picture above his bowl to let him know where his food was located. He really didn't have a problem with knowing where it was, but it's a cute picture.

She was very disappointed when he didn't start talking after lapping up a bowl of alphabet soup. I must admit that I was a little disappointed as well. I wonder what Willie would tell us if he could talk.

This is the best story I've heard in a long time! I am so glad that Maggie has a mama like you to do fun stuff with her :)

That is why you stay at home and do "nothing" all day! She would get to do that if she was with someone else! You are the awesomeist...

Isn't it the most fun to indulge these incredibly scientific explorations? I was a little disappointed to read that Willie did not talk in the end. I agree with Steven, this is exactly why you should be home doing "nothing" all day. So many important memories to make and fringe experiments to conduct!

Well, if you still lived in Georgia and I still kept Maggie, I would have gone back to the store and gotten another can....because obviously the first can was defective!!!!! Come on, Mom. Use your brain.
