Eight is great

My baby girl is turning 8 today. At first, she decided that she didn't want to be eight, but I've convinced her that "eight is great".

It's a phrase that I repeat to her every morning as her morning cheerleader. She's decided that eight is going to rock and she can't wait to be 8.

She's had a good year. She's learning how to play the piano. She's learning how to play golf. She's also riding her bike like a champ.

I'm so proud of my big girl. We had a wonderful girls' trip to Miss Lori's wedding. She is sweet to her little brother and loves to read to him at night. She alternates between being a mama's girl and a daddy's girl. She is such a sweet, fun girl and love her so much

Eight is gonna be great!

Beth's happy day

When I was little, my mom gave me this book one year for my birthday. It's the sweetest book about sharing your birthday with people around you and being nice to people. And I remember there was an adorable kitten in the book too.

So, in honor of my birthday, I'm sharing my day with an adorable two year old. He is actually feeling better today and has eaten half of a pancake so far. He's snuggling next to me and points for me to sit down if I get up to get something.

Maggie gave me a card and my dad called me and Steven tried to take me to breakfast. We had to improvise on the breakfast a little, but so far, it's a happy day

32

Today, I turned 32. Some highlights from my birthday celebration!

1. Maggie's kindergarten class singing Happy birthday to me!
2. Maggie telling me that she will love me no matter how old I get.
3. Waking up at 6:30 a.m. to a precious little boy. I couldn't be mad at him for waking me up so early. He's too cute!
4. Going to the pumpkin patch. Not doing one thing that I chose to do, but having a blast with my family and watching them have fun. Wow, I'm old. Steven called me Clark Griswold for choosing a family event for my birthday celebration!
5. Having the waiter make me a special dessert at Olive Gardent tonight. It was 2 thin mints covered in whipped cream and a cherry. Interesting...
6. Maggie telling us that her favorite smells of all time is the smell of wet paint and new books.
7. Watching Steven climb on to the giant blow up thing with Maggie because she was scared to go by herself. He was the only dad out there on the bouncy thing.
8.Knowing my husband tried to keep the babies asleep a little longer this morning so I could sleep. He got up at 5:30 and fed Patrick so maybe he would sleep a little longer.
9. Seeing two cutie red heads on a ginormous pumpkin at the pumpkin patch. Trying not to cry as my heart was very grateful for our 2 little ones.
10. Having coffee/donuts for breakfast with good friends!

You say it's your birthday....it's my birthday too.

Today, I am 31.

Let's talk about 31 things that are blessings to me!

1. Laura sent me 2 ticket codes to HSM3. I guess it's a blessing. At least Maggie thinks it's a blessing.

2. Steven is a great husband. I love him even when he when he annoys the crap out of me.

3. Maggie Moo is a wonderful daughter. She is so sweet. We sat outside tonight and looked at the stars. Then, we pretended like we were on an airplane ride and she was the pilot. She is so fun and sweet.

4. J had a great day today. She is very sweet and is really trying to let us in and love her.

5. R is a total sweetheart. He is snuggly and sweet. He will wave and smile at anyone who looks at him while we are out.

6. Willie. I love that dog. He is so funny and gentle with the kids.

7. Maybe this was a bad idea. I'm bored with this list.

8. Oh wait, my mom. I like her, too. She is like awesome and stuff.

9. Scrapbooking is fun, too.

10. Okay, does anyone really want to read this? I'd better go.Steven needs to take me to breakfast in the morning...hint, hint.

In case you are wondering what I am counting down to it's...............

Delta Zeta Founder's Day tomorrow. That's right (thanks for the reminder, Laura), tomorrow is the birthday of Delta Zeta's founder. October 24th is a day of pink and green!

In other news, Maggie and Steven were playing with kitten in my pockets this morning. This was the conversation that I heard.

Maggie: Hi Kitty, what do you want to eat? Spaghetti?
Steven: No, kitties don't eat spaghetti. We like field mice.
Maggie: Oh, I got field mice spaghetti cat food.
Steven: Where did you find that?
Maggie: I got it online. That's where I bought it.

(Oh and imagine that this is all spoken in high "kitty" voices!)
