Just summer swinging

School is out! I am looking forward to sprinklers and travel and chocolate popsicles.

I caught this moment between Maggie and Patrick. Her legs look so stinking long and he is trying to tell her something super important.

Maybe it went something like this:

Patrick: tell me how to be as cool as you, sissy.

Maggie: just sit here on the swing and I will teach you my ways, young grasshopper.

This weekend

We had a district picnic with the three churches in our district. The kids had a blast. They made crafts, jumped in a bouncy house, got awesome balloon animals and shot each other with water guns.

This is a picture of some of the machado kids and my kids. They had so much fun together. It makes me very ready for summer to begin!

Bedtime story

Here is a picture of Maggie reading Patrick her favorite story from when she was little. It is called little pea. Our whole family can recite it by memory and now it is one of patrick's favorites.

Look at the adoring look he is giving her. I am so grateful I was able to capture this sweet moment between them.

Ice cream

Patrick had a great day at sandee's house. Besides, every bit needs to eat an ice cream cone bigger than their head at some point in their lives.

Surprisingly, he ate this ice cream without much mess in his car seat.

Last Sunday

Last Sunday, I was in the nursery. It was just Jude and Patrick. Maggie stayed with me, too. They had such a good time. The boys pretended to have a restaurant. They would ask for our order and then pretend to throw us our order.

Then, they were firefighters. It was such a fun morning. It was fun to see them play together with little fighting.

And, Patrick went to the bathroom while we were there. When he came out, Jude cheered for Patrick and hugged him. What a great friendship

11

Today is our 11th anniversary. We have had a fun day so far. We went to a fishing derby in the CVS parking lot with the kids and Jean, Charlie and Tylor.

Patrick won a tackle box and we caught fish and got faces painted.

Then, we went to a car show at the high school near our house. Patrick was in heaven. There were fire trucks and motorcycles and cool cars.

We came home for lunch and playing in the backyard. Maggie and I ran to the dollar tree and got some cute, cheap stuff. I heard a customer ask a cashier my favorite question at the dollar tree.  She said, "how much is this?" and the cashier had to answer without sounding sarcastic that EVERYTHING IN THE STORE IS A DOLLAR!

It cracks me up everytime.

We are home again just relaxing. We'll grill and just hang out and it's been a great anniversary. Not romantic, but good.

I love this guy and I love our life together.

(as I wrote this, I got a sweet card from my brother...great day!)

Spraying the hose

Last night, the kids put on their "baby soups" and got the hose and an empty water bottle. This turned out to be so much fun. They just sprayed each other and filled the bottle and squealed. It was a beautiful, almost summer evening. You can hear Steven cutting the field behind our house. You can also see when Maggie decides to turn the hose on me and I try not to freak out.

Snake bite

Patrick talks about snakes a lot lately. He has a funnier story about snakes that is not appropriate to post on the Internet, but let me tell you about his snake story from today.

When he woke up this morning, I went in his room and he was very concerned about a boo boo on his toe. He told me that a "snake bit his toe".

He hopped around and cried and needed lots of attention. I offered to let him wear his flip flops so it wouldn't hurt his toe. But that wasn't working so I put him in the car shoeless and brought shoes for him to put on at Sandee's house.

I carried him to the door and handed Ashley his shoes. Before I could say a word, he cried that a snake bit his toe and he couldn't wear shoes. Ashley looked shocked until I tried to explain that we didn't really have snakes in our backyard.

So, I guess I need to get some spray to kill those imaginary snakes. They are hurting two year olds at our house.
